THOUGHT OF THE DAY: We all do foolish things from time to time… things we later regret. Like acting out our anger in an inappropriate way. It’s just part of being human, but we can learn from our mistakes. In West Africa, there’s an old Proverb that goes: A foolish act done over again will not improve things. If you want things to improve, you have to learn from your mistakes, even if that means getting some help from a counselor or a teacher or a friend. Then – and this is important – you have to forgive yourself. In the words of Jonathan Swift: A man should never be ashamed to admit he has been wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that his is wiser today than he was yesterday.
