The Peter J. Carril Memorial Scholarship Fund
In August of 2022, the sports world lost a favored son, a coaching legend, whose career accomplishments put him on the map as one of the greatest basketball minds ever.
Pete Carril, the famous basketball coach, was born and raised on the southside of Bethlehem, and played basketball at Liberty High School, graduating in 1948. He was a Bethlehem boy. And so it is fitting and with a full heart that we honor #17 here, with the Peter J. Carril Memorial Scholarship.
The Peter J. Carril Memorial Fund awards one scholarship, $2,500, annually to a graduating Liberty High School senior basketball player.
