Freedom’s Brenna Ortwein knows what it takes to be a winner. She contributed more than nine points per game to the Patriots girls basketball team and helped it go 23-6, reach the league semifinals, the District 11 6A title game and advance to the second round of states.
Now Ortwein is doing what she can to make Freedom’s softball team just as successful.
The sophomore outfielder is batting .404 with a .962 slugging percentage. She has six triples, five home runs and 25 RBIs. In Monday’s 5-1 win over Liberty, she slugged a three-run home run in the first inning.
